Hello MEN of Harbor Covenant!
Our first men’s ministries gathering this year was in July, and even though we had a slight drizzle, we had a great time. Before I go any further, I need to clarify something. I have felt for some time that the name “men’s ministries” does not fill me with passion or excitement. The idea of doing fun stuff with the men in the church does, but the name doesn’t. So, from this point forward I will be calling this group, “ The Harbor Covenant Danger Club.” The Danger Club for short. Some may want to call it HC/DC. Why Danger Club? Because it sounds a lot more fun than “men’s ministries.” Besides, we may even do something dangerous. I don’t expect everyone to adopt my new name, but when you hear me refer to the “Danger Club,” you will know what I mean.

We have a few things scheduled over the next few months so mark your calendars. Friday August 26 twilight golf at Madrona Links. Stay tuned for times and green fee info. When we are done we will meet at the 19th hole to swap lies. (if club house is open). Friday September 16 we will have a short work party at the church from 5pm -8pm followed by a fire and hang-out time. I’m also working on the details for shooting some guns at The Sportsman’s Club Thursday October 20. Stay tuned for more details for all of these events.

I encourage all of you to make it to as many gatherings as you can and invite your friends. I am convinced that if the men in our church simply get involved in the programs and activities going on, not just in the Danger Club, that we as a church can have a huge impact in our community.
