Transition - Contents Update - October 20, 2008 New Senior Pastor Announced
We rejoice to announce that our membership voted resoundingly
October 7 to extend a call to Pastor Michael White, and he has
enthusiastically agreed to be our next senior pastor! We have much
to be thankful for! Gods faithfulness towards HCC has been made
comfortingly manifest during these past 18 months, and we are
assured of His continuing provision as we begin to prepare for
Pastor Whites ministry among us. The Pastoral Search Committee asks
that you continue to pray for HCC as a congregation, for discernment
in the decisions that yet remain before us, for the White family as
preparations are made for their relocation to Gig Harbor, and
particularly for Stockton Covenant Church in California, as they now

~ ~ ~ Update February 29, 2008 Pastoral search process
We are currently at a very exciting stage in the Pastor Search process! We've been receiving a steady amount of interest over the last few weeks with over 20 candidates submitting applications for us to consider and will soon be making contact with several candidates for a series of phone interviews. Following these interviews, we expect to have one or two candidates visiting Harbor Covenant.
This is indeed an exciting time for Harbor Covenant and the search committee asks for a continued covering of prayer during this time. Please be in specific prayer as the committee considers resumes from around the country to fit the aspects outlined in the congregational profile. The Holy Spirit has moved in the hearts of our congregation to deliver some key growth areas to consider as we recently confirmed in the church profile. He will continue to be faithful as we move forward in our search for the next Senior Pastor at Harbor Covenant Church!

The Pastoral Search Committee, working with much input from the congregation, has compiled drafts of our church profile and position description for the senior pastor. Copies of these drafts are available from the church office. It is expected that the actual search process will begin in mid January.
Some of the events that have taken place up until now include completion of the survey process, forums and small group interactions to collect input and Council and Congregational work sessions that have confirmed our strategic direction.
