Our
goal at Harbor Covenant is to encourage and develop
marriage relationships that are strong, passionate,
loving, vulnerable, truth-filled and Christ-like.
All ships
need to come into a safe harbor. Fast or slow, big or
small, good condition or bad, all ships need to come
into harbor from time to time. All marriages need a
“safe harbor” to come into as well – to be refitted or
re-equipped to enjoy daily life together as well as to
weather future storms.
For some this
might be a time of relaxation, refreshment, and rest for
the crew; for others this might involve scraping off
some barnacles or removing a bit of rust; for still
others it might be time for more extensive work in dry
dock. But the simple fact is that all ships need to do
it, and all marriages need the same.
In the Safe
Harbor ministry, we seek to establish a safe harbor for
marriages in our community.

We have lots
of ideas for this new ministry of support and
encouragement – they’ll unfold as time goes on. Here are
two events from last year :
Marriage... Being More than Survivors
At the heart
of our existence is the desire to be intimate and to be
loved by another. Marriage is designed to meet that need
for intimacy and love. Our desire is to see each of us
humble and hungry for what God intended for our
marriages. Our focus will be to discuss marriage, the
joys, the pressures and how we can become intimate
allies in our journey here on earth.

Love Talk – Take Time for Your Marriage
Seventy-plus
couples spent six Sunday evenings having fun with their
own spouses and with other couples, having great
desserts, and learning together about communication.
Developed by
Les and Leslie Parrot, this is a great new series on
building intimate marriages that helps couples
understand why we communicate the way we do. |
