Vision and Purpose of Remodel and Expansion
- Gives HCC an obvious front door to welcome the community into our church. However, for it to work, we will have to go into the community, develop relationships with people and then invite them to join us.
- Allows for a more noticeable “Welcome and Information Center” for more effective distribution of information and improved communication.
- Creates a better gathering space where people can connect with each other. We want to create strong community where people are deeply connected to one another. The building will provide space we do not currently have for conversations and connections. If we learn to recognize and engage visitors this will be an effective space to welcome people.
- Expands our resources for use by the community. Our church is already well utilized by outside groups. This building will provide additional space for meetings, weddings, and gatherings. We will need to actively engage the community to bring them in to use the facility.
- Remodeling our worship center and adding a new building will meet the worship, outreach, fellowship and meeting needs of our congregation currently and allow room for growth without requiring additional building for years. This will allow us to devote more money to ministry in the future.
- Will serve as a launching pad to send us out to incarnate Christ in our world. This will only work if our hearts are moved by people who are living without the hope and peace we have found in Christ.
- A tithe (10%) of the amount that we raise will be given outside our walls to fund a local outreach and foreign mission capital project.
How will we put our vision into action?
We will form a “missional use committee.” This group will develop the specific plans for utilizing the new space. They will work while the building is constructed. When the building is finished we will have a plan in place for using the space for our stated goals.
